Hochgernhaus in Marquartstein

We were on October 28th, 2020. above I wasn't upstairs for a couple of years and was shocked how dirty it is in the kitchen and dining room. Corona, hygiene concepts not available. No wonder if the numbers in Traunstein are so high. Everyone touched coffee, cups of sugar etc. and no disinfection was carried out. Will now continue to observe, bring photos and then display when they are open again. Other huts have hygiene concepts there, and they work if you want. Grossly negligent as to how the health of the guests is handled. I don't want to know what's going on at the weekend!

We had a very nice stay at the Hochgernhaus. The rooms are clean and the food is great! Especially the Kasspatzn and the Kaiserschmarrn were fantastic! The view, especially at sunrise, is unique! Thanks for the good time and see you soon!

The food was absolutely miserable. This was our first time there, maybe an exception. The view and the hut are nice.

We stayed at the Hochgernhaus for one night from Friday 09.10.20 to Saturday. It was very nice weather🌤 and accordingly a lot going on. The employed all-rounder Natalia was very committed to the rush and in my opinion did her job very well. 💪 Nevertheless, a second force would have been urgently needed to provide support. The food (Kaasspatzn, Leberkäs ‘with fried egg and fried potatoes and Kaiserschmarren) tasted very good. As an accommodation, the hut was completely okay, but not anymore. In my opinion, you can clearly see the wear and tear. A lot could be achieved here with commitment and a small financial commitment. The view is terrific and definitely worth an ascent with a stop. I would come again for that. Wonderful view, TOP KAISERSCHMARRN

A really incredible view. We were all alone up there and it was really great. I ate the best Kaiserschmarren there for a long time. For that I would run up every day. The prices are perfectly reasonable.

Wonderful view, competent service, delicious food and in the middle of nature. It couldn't be better! Leonard in particular was very personable. Absolute recommendation!

September 20, Spent 3 nights upstairs! Wonderful barbecue events on Friday and Saturday Saturday. There was something for everyone, including me as a vegetarian, there was a good selection! Top ! In particular, the service from Leo in the team with the other two employees was enthusiastic. The highlight was then the accordion insert from Leo. That alone could still be expanded in parts. The Hochgernhaus is one of the coolest places in Chiemgau! I would recommend it to everyone. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere. Delicious food and top white wine.

We wanted to stay at the hut, had booked a room for 5 people. The landlord wanted to put us in the bed dorm. That is an imposition! I am aware that a cabin is not a 5 star hotel, but I know some other cabins that are reasonable and clean. The toilets in the main building were completely filthy, there was a watering can next to the toilet in the bed dormitory. Looking through the food counter, you saw empty tetra packs lying around, some on the floor. When we confronted the host, he wanted to get rid of us! He guaranteed us a partial refund of the amount if we stayed, but this was not paid out because we did not start the overnight stay and we did not want the alternative room. It's a great view from up there, but the Hochgernhaus leaves a lot to be desired. Several comments have already been written that say something similar. If I come in that direction again, I'll skip the Hochgernhaus and visit another hut.

A glance into the toilets and the kitchen as you walk past is enough to keep hunger within limits. It can also be clean in the hut! It's all a question of organization and will. One star is for the great view! Next visit is one hut lower and then it goes up to the summit, past the Hochgernhaus. complement Yes dear owner, it was only a fleeting visit, I have given the reasons for it. If you took the reviews seriously, then you would have read the topic of hygiene 1-2 times and not in a positive sense. In addition, we were already addressed by the locals from Unterwössen beforehand ... We didn't want to let us stop them from visiting their hut, but in retrospect you were right! Everyone should get their own picture and you can continue to comment this cleverly.

I can only agree with the previous speaker. Top view no question. But after the lukewarm cyclist looked for his way and I had to go to the toilet, I lost my appetite for the Kaiserschmarrn. I've never seen anything so dirty, and the water tank hung at half past seven. Perhaps the two landlords should rather take care of the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities instead of drinking coffee on the Aperol terrace and after a short time in the kitchen. On the way back from the Hochgern it is better to visit the two pastures under the Hochgernhaus.

Great alp with a great view. Food was delicious. Service on Sunday at high activity a bit chaotic but cheerful and friendly.

Were up here a few days ago. Climbing with snow is more strenuous than in summer. Hut a bit old but cozy. Probably managed by a non-German host in the winter months. However, this is very sweet and nice despite smaller language barriers. Prices so far but really okay. The view is always very nice during the ascent and descent. We will be back :)

Rising from Marquartstein. Partly shady, partly sunny. About Agergschwend and Enzianhütte. Great view. Sometimes quite steep, but when you arrive at the top, it's worth it.

Nice innkeepers, marmots behind the house .... Always nice up here ....

We spent New Year's Eve on the Hochgernhaus. It was really great. The host and the landlady cooked extremely delicious! The accommodation and equipment was sufficient for a mountain hut and good! All in all, everything was really great! Highly recommended, even for a mountain hut newbie as I am.

Excellent hut. Reachable in 2-2,5 hours by foot. Stunning views. The food is good. Not many choices
